OSCAR BROWNE NEVER QUITE RIGHT
A familiar face in the South London scene, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Oscar Browne has appeared in numerous line ups from Dead Pretties to Broadside Hacks and Mellah. Stepping forth with his first solo single, 'Never Quite Right' has been a highlight of his live sets for some time. The recorded version is even more enchanting, with the addition of strings, airy backing vocals, fizzy drum machine and ambient background noise, adding depth and character to the beautifully sparse track. Harking back to Bombay Bicycle Club, A Different Kind of Fix-era, Browne's vocals are smooth and melodic, locking in seamlessly with the hypnotic acoustic guitar.
